In the Engineering and Physical Sciences Building (EPS), room 103, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00-8:50 am, and in Roberts Hall 321 on Thursdays from 3:10-4:00.
Yes, We know. We don't like the times and room arrangements very well either. However, finding rooms for new courses is tough. We'll continue to work on it.

What You'll Learn
You will learn many things through active, hands-on learning; for example, you will:
- create a personal Web portfolio
- work with others from different majors to construct a website hosted with a commercial company
- apply a technique called the scientific method to test certain conjectures (e.g., does Google really read your e-mail)?
You will also learn many things through study:
- the infrastructure of the Web
- how the Web works
- what's behind successful Web ventures, such as
- Google
- Facebook
- Twitter
- YouTube
- others
- how you can participate indirectly as a well-informed citizen
- how you can become directly involved as a Web player if that excites you
- what computer science tells us about
- the limitations of the Web
- the role of science on the Web, such as artificial intelligence, data mining, and cool algorithms

Every serious Web venture will engage people of various backgrounds: graphics designers, artists, website designers, writers, copy editors, programmers, business managers, marketing people, content experts, and others. This course will provide you with the capacity for communicating with team members on Web issues as well as the knowledge of the Web necessary for contributing to overall solutions and company directions.
- It will lay the groundwork for more academic Web oriented coursework applicable to your chosen major, including such topics as: Web design, Web commerce, Web programming, managing a hosted website, entrepreneurial Web ventures, and others.
