Center for Biofilm Engineering Computer Science faculty collaborate with others across campus on research. The Center for Biofilm Engineering is one of the research centers on campus that has research ties with the Computer Science Department.

Bridger Bowl Bridger Bowl is a first class ski area just 17 miles from the Bozeman city center. Faculty can obtain discounted tickets for skiing at Bridger Bowl.
Bohart Ranch Nestled on the lower slopes of the Bridger Mountains, just below Bridger Bowl, is a Nordic ski area popular with locals. Faculty can get discounted tickets at Bohart Ranch.
Big Sky Resort Big Sky Resort, about 60 miles from Bozeman, is a world class destination winter and summer resort with outstanding winter skiing. Faculty can get discounted tickets for skiing at Big Sky.
Moonlight Basin A relative newcomer on the block and a neighbor to Big Sky, Moonlight Basin is becoming quite popular among intermediate and beginning skiers for its very long slopes, great vistas, and reasonable prices. Faculty can get discounted tickets at Moonlight Basin.
Lone Mountain Resort Just off the road to the north on the way up the slopes to Lone Mountain and the ski slopes of Big Sky Resort is a renowned Nordic ski area managed by Lone Mountain Resort.
Yellowstone National Park The north entrance of Yellowstone National Park in Gardiner, Montana, and the west entrance at West Yellowstone, Montana, are both about 90 miles from Bozeman. A drive through the park or a short hike or cross-country ski excursion inside the park boundaries are easily done in a single day.
Gallatin National Forest The Gallatin National Forest surrounds Bozeman and offers virtually every kind of forest and back country experience, from comfortable tent or trailer camping, to simple half-day hikes, to week-long backpacking and horseback treks. High mountain lakes and streams are both scenic and fishable. Many entries to the Gallatin Forest are just a few minutes from Bozeman by car or bicycle.
Beartooth Wilderness The Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness ranks as perhaps the favorite backpacking destination in Montana. Situated at the northeast corner of Yellowstone National Park, it is home to Granite Peak, the highest mountain in Montana, and boasts hundreds of high-mountain lakes spread through the meadows and peaks of a stunning landscape that is mostly above timberline.
Glacier National Park A bit farther to the northwest, but still within an easy day's drive, is one of the most scenic national parks in the United States. Glacier National Park is a favorite of many.
