Congratulations to my PhD student Sean Yaw for having the winning poster at this year’s departmental graduate poster session.  Sean’s poster was entitled Non-Preemptive Peak Demand Job Scheduling.

September 2013

Congratulations to my PhD student Ivan Judson!  Ivan successfully defended his PhD and is now working as a program manager at Microsoft Research.

Another highly successful REU this summer.  Special thanks to Maggie McDonald, Jenn Lemke, Evan Kleiner and Lucy Williams who worked on research projects with myself and Dr. Mike Wittie.

I was promoted to Full Professor and also received the Computer Science department’s researcher of the year award (shared with Clem Izurieta).  Looking forward to the start of the REU program in a few weeks.

Good news: Clem Izurieta and I recently found out our NSF REU Site proposal is recommended for funding (entitled “Research in Networking and Networks with Applications to Sustainability”; more details to follow)

I will be visiting at the Computer Science Department at the University of Arizona during spring semester 2012 while on sabbatical.

Made it to Finland!  We’re getting settled and I am beginning to explore collaborations with Comnet, my host department.
