Tying the Mental Model Together

We turned back the assignments done on the mental model of the hardware/software interface with focus on the instruction fetch and execute cycle in the presence of hardware interrupts.  We then embarked on an example to tie it all together.

Notes

• When completing assignments, be sure to cite all references, including URLs you use, Wikipedia links, and so forth.
• Part of the maturation process of becoming a computer scientist is being able to read different sources on one topic and  making sense of different descriptions and terminologies.  For example, many people list an "Accumulator" in their mental model, something we did not present in class.  How does this tie to the class presentation?
• You can do a web search for free flowcharting or diagramming software for use in completing the assignments.
• I will begin holding help sessions if people desire.
