CSCI 440 - Database Systems

The course is designed to introduce the essential concepts of database systems: relational database model, fundamentals of data modeling (e.g. ER and EER diagrams) and database design (normalization), Structured Query Language (SQL), storage organization, query optimization, and basic data indexing techniques popular in Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMSs). Students will gain hands on experience through assignments and team projects.
