End-of-File

• Sentinal character used in the first two programs. But, that means the sentinal can't be part of the input.

• End of file is a special character marking the end of a data file. This can be sensed upon input.

• There is a special character for end of file indication from the keyboard. (CTL-D)

• textin3 demonstrates cin.fail

• textin4 demonstrates EOF

• Lots of compatibility issues with this.
