Adding a Flash movie cast member

Adding a Flash movie to your Director cast is the first step in employing it in your Director movie. Before starting, make sure the Flash movie you want to insert is saved in Shockwave Flash movie format.

To add a Flash movie cast member:

1 Choose Insert > Media Element > Shockwave Flash Movie.
Director opens the Flash Asset Properties dialog box, which you use to set up the most common options for a Flash movie.
2 Select the Shockwave Flash movie file you want to add to your Director cast.
To add a file on your computer or on a network drive, click the Browse button then select the file and click Open.
To add a file from a location on the Internet, click the Internet button then type the URL of the file and click OK.
When you finish, you see the pathname or the URL of the file in the Link File box.
If you prefer, you can also type directly in the Link File box.
3 Set the options for this Flash movie cast member. See Flash movie cast member options for details.
4 When you finish selecting options, click OK.
Director adds the Flash movie to the cast.

Note: You can also use the Flash Asset Xtra's Lingo extensions to adjust these and other properties of the Flash movie. For more information, see Controlling a Flash movie using Lingo.
