MID TERM TEST RULES

(A MUST READ)

All Tests must be completed by 10am on Tuesday March 2. If your test is not done then, you get a zero, no exceptions

THESE RULES ARE FOR ALL STUDENTS - ONLINE AND LECTURE STUDENTS.

There are three types of people who will take the test, pick which one you are and read the rules.
YOU DECIDE WHICH TYPE YOU ARE, ANYBODY ENROLLED IN CS150 CAN BE ANY OF THE THREE TYPES: IT'S YOUR CHOICE!! (you must be one, and only one type).

Type 1: Take the test at the regular time which is 9:00 am March 2^nd, in the classroom on paper with pencil. If you are this type of person click here
Type 2: Take the test at the regular time, 9:00 am on March 2^nd on the computer. If you are this type of person click here
Type 3: A person that can't take the test at 9:00 am on March 2^nd has to take the test at one of the other scheduled times. (It will be a written version of the test, the only time the computer version can be taken is at 9:00am on March 2nd.) If you are this type of person click here

TYPE 1 PERSON
Taking the written test 9am March 2^nd

RULES

You must take the TEST.

Bring a #2 pencil and fill in the scantron I provide.

The test is open book and open notes. Bring them both.

The test is 50 questions you will have 50 minutes.

TYPE 2 PERSON
Taking it on the computer 9am March 2^nd

RULES:

You must take the TEST.
Computer test will be linked at the top of the main CS150 page here.
The link to the test will be there at 9:00 am on March 2nd. The link will only be there for about 15 minutes. You will have to refresh your browser at 9:00 am to get the link to show up.

AOL members Will not refresh properly, so you need to send me an email prior to March 2th and then right before the test I will send you a direct link to the test. Just send a note saying "I use AOL, I will need the direct link for the test" and send it to hunterl@cs.montana.edu.

The only time you can take the test on the computer is 9:00 am on March 2nd.
When you log on to the test you will be there until all the questions are answered. You can not go back and forth on the pages, and you can't leave the test questions to scroll through the notes.
The test is open book and open notes. But you must have the notes prepared, you can't look them up with your browser while you're in the test.
There are no reserved computers, you can take the test from any computer you want (home, neighbor or school). The labs could fill up so make sure if you are taking the test in one of the computer labs where you know the lab is open and computers will be available at 9:00 am.
The test is given in random questions so nobody should have the same test. When you finish the test you will immediately get your score. I get a copy of your test answers, questions, and score.
The test is fifty minutes. If you go over the fifty minutes you get one point taken off for every minute you are over. The test has a built in timer, when you are done it will tell your starting time and ending time, it does not tell you during the test. Just like the quizzes you must keep track of your own time.
The score you see at the end is before any subtraction of overtime points.

TYPE 3 PERSON
People that can't take the test 9:00am March 2nd

RULES:

If you can't take the test at the scheduled time, March, 2^nd 9:00 am you must take the test at one of the following alternative times:

March 1st

9am (EPS 354) (note: different room)
10am (EPS 354) (note: different room)
12pm (EPS 110)(note: different room)
1pm (EPS 110)(note: different room)
2pm (EPS 110)(note: different room)

If you can't take the test at one of these times you can schedule an alternate time with me, Hunter. Send me an email or call 994-5959 as soon as possible.

The test at all but the 9:00am & 10:00am times must be taken in EPS 110 The 9am&10am March 1st test takers will meet me in my office.
The test will be a written version of the test, not any harder or easier than the regular test, just different.
It is open book and open notes.
NOTE: you can not take it online, only a written version and only on March 1st.
