Project 1: Genetic Algorithm Evaluation

This assignment is due at the beginning of the lecture on Friday, March 10^th.

Partners

You are required to work with your Project 1 partner on this assignment. Please submit just one solution with both of your names on it.

Purpose

The purpose of this assignment is to allow you to see how your classmates have approached Project 1 and its writeup. Often, one can improve one's ability to conduct and report upon research by critically reading and evaluating what others have done.

Assignment

There are a total of seven Project 1 reports, including your own. On March 3rd, you will be given a copy of each other team's report. For each of the seven reports, generate a report that includes the following:

1. The authors of the report.
2. With respect to the quality and clarity of the writing, what is the most significant shortcoming? Be specific.
3. With respect to the visual products in the report, what is the most significant shortcoming? Be specific.
4. What is the biggest strength of Experiment 1? Explain.
5. What is the biggest weakness of Experiment 1? Explain.
6. Suppose that the seven papers must be classified into rank 1 (best 2 papers), rank 2 (next best 3 papers), rank 3 (next best 2 papers). Give this paper a ranking. Explain your ranking in a paragraph or so.
