Tips for Success
Lectures
- Attend class.
- Before class, skim the reading.
- After class, read the material carefully, paying
special attention to material that was covered in class.
- After class, write simple programs to test your
understanding of the material.
Labs and Programming Assignments
- Pretend that all assignments are due at least one full day
before they actually are.
- If you work with a partner in the lab, make sure that you
both fully understand your solution.
Exams
- Emphasize understanding, not memorization.
- Keep up with the material on a regular basis.
- Sleep well the night before the exam.
Resources
- Your classmates and/or lab partner.
- The TAs during labs or during office hours.
- John during lecture or during office hours.

them to my office hours on your laptop or on a memory stick.
