Midterms back and Ted Talks
Midterm exams were returned today. If you weren't in class you can pick them up in our next class on Monday 3/23.
The class average was a 68, median was a 71. High score was 101 and the low score was 2. The exam will be graded on a curve such that the median is a B-. This means that each score will have approximately 10 points added to it. So if you got a 71 that is equivelant to an 81 and B-. If you got 101, that is equivelant to 111 and an A++ :).
Since it was the last day before spring break we watched a series of educational videos instead of having a lecture today.
- Johnny Lee demos his Wii Remote Hacks - http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/johnny_lee_demos_wii_remote_hacks.html
- James Whittaker talks about the future of testing - http://www.utest.com/webinar_james_whittaker.htm
- Tony Robbins talks about internal motivations and how to uncover them to become more effective - http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/tony_robbins_asks_why_we_do_what_we_do.html
- We didn't get a chance to watch this one, but its interesting nonetheless. Sir Ken Robinson talks about how the educational system robs children of their creativity - http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/ken_robinson_says_schools_kill_creativity.html
