CS 425 November 15, 2007
You will do a VRML lab, due the Thursday after Thanksgiving, the 29th of November.
First
Most of you have a problem, or several problems with your OpenGl. I am going through them today and attempting to help fix
as many errors as I can. Send me an email with what I'm supposed to be looking for, I have notes on most of you, but if there
is something in particular that you want looked at send me an email.
I will not be in the lab today, if you need me I should be back around 1pm or you can
catch me tomorrow all day. I'm doing a software demo for Homeland Security......do you feel secure?
VRML Lab
You can use the examples I have linked here, it's a zipped file with several worlds Click Here. There's a readme file that does a little
explanation of each file, my lecture notes from yesterday as well as any VRML tutorials you can find on the Internet. Here is a good one
To Do
Make a VRML world and host it on your Esus account.
The world should:
- Level 1 Should have a scene that makes sense.
- Use primitive objects together to make more complex objects, people, homes, etc.
- The objects should have color.
- Level 2
- Include level 1+ criteria and.....
- Use more than one viewpoint.
- Have objects that can link to other worlds.
- Level 3 lights cameras action
- Include level 2+ criteria and.....
- add lights
- Add some materials properties.
- Add a texture or two.
- Level 4
- Include all criteria in level 3+
- Use Routes and sensors to animate items in your scene.
- Lighting spots.
- Get carried away and spend way too much time on this, basically fail another class because you spent too much time on your VRML lab.
