How to Add or Drop CSCI, CS, ESOF Courses

If you need to get into a class and have not been able to register, don’t panic.

The course may be filled to capacity, and in order for you to register, you need to know when there are seats available. Fortunately, the MSUBot tool can notify you of that immediately and automatically so that you can get in the minute a spot opens up.

Follow these steps and you will be good to go.

  • Go to https://msubot.com-> Input your information -> Wait. Once you have received a text notification, register online for your class immediately (step by step directions below)
  • You can register online for the first week of school
  • See the registrar's add/drop website for details
In the meantime:
Attend the class you want to get into – even if you are not registered for it
Contact the main CS Office - see the Faculty/Staff directory for contact info
  • This waitlist is to indicate how much interest there is in the specific class to see if course capacity should be raised or another section offered
  • Putting your name on the waitlist does not mean you will be registered once a spot opens (during the first week of classes, that is up to you)
If a spot opens and the lab time conflicts with another class, contact the main office, and they can get you registered and discuss whether your instructor might let you attend a different lab tim. Once a spot opens, register immediately –fastest to register MyInfo (directions below.)

*TR means Tuesdays and Thursdays (the R stands for Thursday)

  1. Make arrangements with your instructor and verify by email
  2. Forward the email to main office receptionist, or print it out so that you can show them.
  3. Visit receptionist in the CS Office, where they will be able to help with overriding the conflict.
