2D Game and Class Presentation (40%)
- Presentation: Wednesday, August 16th during class.
- Code Submission: No sooner than end-of-class on Tuesday,
August 15th and no later than 1000 on Wednesday, August 16th.
- Partner Information: Complete this assignment with your
approved partner(s).
- Submission Instructions: E-mail your team's Godot project and
the requested document in a zip file to john.paxton@montana.edu.
In the subject line include the names of your team members.
2D Game Assignment
Select a game and implement a 2D version of it from scratch
with GDScript on the Godot Game Engine.
Game Demonstration
On the day that your game is due, your team will give
a 15-minute demonstration to the class that includes:
- A brief description of the game you implemented.
- A demonstration of the game being played.
- Strengths and weaknesses of the implementation.
- Answering questions from the class.
Each team member should present information for roughly
the same amount of time.
2D Game Grading
- 30 points - The game implemented is non-trivial and appropriate
for your team's level of experience.
- 50 points - The game works correctly and is graphics-based.
- 10 points - The solution is high quality and contains
comments.
- 10 points - A document accompanies your game that describes
(1) three highlights of your implementation,
(2) known errors and weaknesses in your implementation,
(3) at least three possible future enhancements and
(4) an overview of each team member's specific contributions.
