2017 oSTEM Conference
- Out in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (oSTEM)
is a national society dedicated to educating and fostering leadership
for LGBTQA communities in the STEM fields.
- Conference Website
- Location: Chicago
- Dates: Thursday, November 16th through Sunday, November 19th.
- You will miss classes on Thursday and Friday. Because
this is a university sponsored trip, there is no penalty for
missing classes.
- Montana State University is a conference sponsor.

Student Support
The College of Engineering and its five academic units will sponsor
several COE majors and graduate students to attend. Sponsored students
receive airfare, a shared hotel room and conference registration.
Application Procedure
If you would like to attend the oSTEM conference,
e-mail the following information to John Paxton
(john DOT paxton AT montana DOT edu)
no later than Friday, September 8th.
- Name
- Major
- A brief overview of what your home department (e.g.
Civil Engineering if you are a Civil Engineering major)
and the COE do well
with respect to diversity, equity and inclusion.
- A brief overview of what your home department and the COE could do
better with respect to diversity, equity and inclusion.
- A brief overview of how attending the conference might benefit you.
- A brief overview of how attending the conference might help you benefit
others.
- Attach a current resume in pdf format. Having a current
resume will help you take advantage of the oSTEM Career Fair.
- And anything else you wish to add.
