Program 3: Conference Paper

Assignment

For the final assignment, you should pick a CS 536 topic of interest that you would like to investigate. In addition to researching this topic (you may use any programming language that you like), you are also going to practice submitting your results to a conference. In this case, pretend that you are going to submit a paper to the Annie 2004 Conference.

Abstract

Use the abstract form that is located at the conference site. However, you are required to pick a topic that is related to CS 536 material. Should your topic not appear on the abstract form, you may modify the abstract form so that it includes your topic.

Paper

Use the manuscript preparation instructions that are found at the Annie conference web site. This is a strict requirement!

Due Dates

• Give a hardcopy of the abstract to John no later than Thursday, March 25th at the beginning of lecture. I will give you feedback if your proposal appears too hard or too easy. In general, the work you do should be comparable to what you did for the second assignment.
• The paper, any code you write, and printouts of the code running are due no later than Thursday, April 22nd at the beginning of lecture.
• There will be 15 minute demos of your program on the afternoon of Thursday, April 22nd in John's office.

Partners

You are required to work with one other person on this assignment. Please submit just one solution with both of your names on it.

Grading

• 10%. The abstract.
• 60%. The correctness and quality of the report.
• 30%. The correctness and quality of the code and output.
