Food safety has always been an integral part of Grow Local, and our systems have consistently been at the top of the produce industry. But we believe that even the best food safety standards require continuous improvement.
With the guidance of some of the most respected food safety scientists in the country, we’ve reassessed our food safety program from the field to processing and packaging. We’re in the process of implementing a new food safety program that’s unprecedented in the produce industry, and we’re committed to continually improving it as food safety science advances.

At Grow Local, we know our farming practices the way we protect our fields from pests, the way we nourish the soil affect the health of our planet and the health of those who enjoy our harvest. Although organic farming methods tend to be more labor-intensive and costly in the short run, they avoid serious and ultimately more costlylong-term issues like groundwater pollution, soil erosion, loss of biodiversity, and human health problems caused by exposure to chemical residues. Organic food may cost a bit more in the grocery store, but we believe that when the long-term costs associated with these problems are factored in, the organic is the healthiest choice. |
