At a very young age, Kevin found
his true love: snowboarding. When Kevin was strapped into a board and
lying into a carve, it was like everything else in the world didn't
matter. It was just him and the snow. This love carried him to very
high places, from the peaks above Lake Tahoe, to the craggy cliffs of
the Swiss Alps. Kevin was never very far from home as long as there was
a snowy peak nearby. It wasn't until one day in his late 20's when
tragedy struck. While boarding along a cliff face, the snow gave way
underneath him and soon he found himself being carried down through
trees, completely helpless. When rescuers found him he was alive, but
in grim condition. His leg was shattered and it couldn't be saved.
Without a leg, most thought Kevin would never get to carve down any
snow-covered faces again.
After much pain and anguish, Kevin wouldn't let his injury ruin his life. With a background in engineering, Kevin has a brilliant idea that would eventually allow him to be reunited with the mountains he loved. Kevin discovered a way to adapt a board that would enable him to be on the snow despite his condition. Not only this, he discovered there were others just like him who loved snowboarding more than life itself, but could no longer be on the snow because of similar injuries. He now had a way of helping them too. This is how LogicBoard was born. Today, Kevin refits donated snowboards for adaptive use, and gives them to Eagle Mount, a local facility for adaptive snowboarding.
