Introduction
Designing a
client focuses on designing and developing an idea that meets the
clients
specific requirements. The designer and client would follow these 5
steps in a
design process:
Brainstorm
Research
Create
Test
Analyze
After the
design process comes a creative brief to see where certain areas need
to be
fixed or worked on. It is always helpful to spread things out and give
teammates certain roles to work on for the product. That way the
project gets
done faster and more focus is brought to specific parts that each
person can
work on. Ending with a critique is always necessary before putting a
product
out into the public as well as a critique on the team for future
references.
Creative Brief
The
creative
brief allows the creator and the creator’s team to ask questions as a
guide for
the development of the project. It helps referring back to the document
to see
where things went off track and how to fix them. It makes it easier at
the
beginning of the project to know the task at hand and establish a
strategy for
the direction of the project. It gives the designer and client’s
information
extending from the requirements of the project to contact information
for
everyone involved in the process of the product. Goals and objectives
are
crucial in a brief for a team to understand and follow.
The steps for a creative brief
Information: giving the designer detailed
background
information about your business.
Objectives: the important business objectives
or outcomes
you expect from your site.
Competition: know
and research the competition to know who you are competing with and
what you
can contribute to beat them.
Audience: designer
needs to know what audience they are working with and that doesn’t go
for the
demographic data from the media. They need to get into the readers
heads.
Proposition: what
is going to make you different so the readers react a desired way.
Brand: know
what your audience likes and what they want.
Success metrics: increase
in certain metrics to see if your project is successful.
