This
beautiful brass button has come to us all the way from San Diego, CA.
The button dates back to the 1800s militia group called the
Cleveland Grays who were sworn protectors of Cleveland, OH.
The
Cleveland Gray militia still exists today in Ohio but joined the Ohio
Militia in the later 1800s. The button itself holds evidence
of
the militia group in the CG depicted on the front surrounded by the
wreath. The measure is 7/8 inch across and is in prime
condition
considering its age. The back says J. Wagemon & Sons as a
tribute
to its makers.
