Software Requirements:
GeoVRML 1.1 Runtime Environment(website)
The GeoVrml Runtime Environment interprets the code for
the 3D models and allows the model to be displayed.
Cortona VRML Client(website)
The Cortona VRML Client is a plug-in for internet browsers
that allows the ability to view GeoVRML files. Cortona has built
in functions that easily allow the user to navigate in the 3-D model.
For more info on this check out the learning
section of this manual
Java Virtual Machine(website)
Java is a computing platform from Sun Microsystems. Java
technology enables just about any application to run on just about
any computer or device. If you don't already have it, you will need
it to enjoy the 3D models.
Flash Player(website)
Optional
Macromedia Flash allows integration of video, text,
audio, and graphics resulting in superior presentations and application
interfaces. You can navigate the IFAFS website without flash but it is
highly recommended and can be obtained by clicking here.
IFF Tool Optional The
IFF Tool is a set of functions which focus on speed and functionality.
The tools included are: DBF2IFF, Kriging and Geo-VRML. The format
used for IFAFS Data is called IFF. The IFF file extension is “.IFF”.
It is a binary file, although some of the data is saved in ASCII text.
The main three parts of the fire are: Signature, Metadata, and Data. DBF2IFF
is a filter that translates dbf files into IFF files. Kriging is used
to interpolate the data that later will be used by the GeoVRML tool to
generate 3D images to be displayed in internet.
Installation:
You must download and install GeoVRML1.1, Cortona and Java Virtual Machine
(JVM) included in the link below:
Program
Zip File
You can also download install the IFF tool if you want to create GeoVRML files
