Looking at the Work Area

      

    • IFAFS Home page: From the opening page you can choose to enter the site as either a new user or a returning user through the respectivly named links. The project overview can also be accessed from the main page.



    • User’s Manual: The user manual can be accessed via either the new user link on the main page or by the user manual link on any of the pages within the IFAFS website. Inside the user manual you can learn how to navigate the website and also about software required to do so

  



    • National: The national page presents a map of the united states. Colored states represent states that have completed research and have fully developed databases for the crop(s) grown in that geographic region. You can click on a state to go to that individual states page. Alternatly, you can click on the name of the state above the picture. Both methods will take you to the state level.

 



    • State: Montana, South Dakota, Minnesota, Georgia. The state page is represented with the colored counties having complete research and having fully developed databases for the crop(s) grown in that geographic area. To access your desired county click on the image of that county. Alternatly, you can click on the name of the county above the picture. Both methods will take you to the county level.

 



    • County: The county view represents the county’s USGS land use classifications. The land cover legend represents the major types of land use and cover within the county boundary. To access the farm field dataset and view the data in 3D, click on the red star representing a field.

 



    • Field: The view represents the farm field.
