New Client

New Clients

For new clients, web design might seem like a foreign subject, because when you go to a website many don't think about the work put into making it look presentable. When introducing design to a client, it is important to explain to them that the design process is an important step. If the client is interested, it is essential they know the limit of your skill in designing. This is what the creative brief is for. Once you create the brief and show it to them, you can begin the actual construction. You should make a rough draft and expose it to the client for critique, and do this until the site is to their liking.

What is a Creative Brief?

A creative brief is a document or presentation created by a designer, or a corporation to show a client or perspective client: web sites, visual design, and functionality. The creative brief is necessary in the process of creating a new product because it summarizes the key aspects of the project to the client to get the design process moving, and let the client know precisely what is going to happen.

How to Make a Creative Brief

The creative brief is just a dose of what the whole project should come out to be. The brief starts with a summary, to provide an overview of the project. Then you must explain the current situation and what is needed for the project. Next you should explain the project in better detail and discuss a target audience. After that you should discuss the goals of the project and how you will stay in communication with your client. Time is an essence in every project and the timeline must be discussed next, along with who is involved, and must sign off on the project; such as clients, managers, sponsors, etc. once the creative brief is apporved the construction begins.
