Gianforte School of Computing Travel Opportunities

  • Since 2012, we regularly sponsor students to attend the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing Conference.  In 2022, 13 students attended the national conference in Orlando with faculty leader Laura Stanley.  More information.
  • In 2022, 3 students attended the Rocky Mountain Celebration of Women in Computing Conference in Boulder, Colorado with faculty leader Lucy Williams.
  • Since 2016, we regularly sponsor LGBT+ students to attend the oSTEM Conference.  In 2022,  16 students attended the national conference in Boston with faculty leader John Paxton.  More information.
  • We periodically sponsor students to attend the Richard Tapia Celebration of Diversity in Computing Conference.  Four students attended the September 2020 virtual conference.  More information.
  • Every three years, we provide partial support for students to participate in a summer study abroad trip.  In 2023, 11 MSU students will travel to Berlin, Germany with faculty leader John Paxton.  More information.
  • Since 2015, we regularly sponsor students to visit an out-of-state high-tech hub to learn more about career opportunities, build community and take advantage of cultural opportunities.  In 2022, 8 students traveled to Seattle with faculty leader John Paxton.  More information.
