Gianforte School of Computing Travel Opportunities

  • Since 2012, students periodically receive sponsorship to attend the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing Conference.  In 2024, 4 students attended the national conference in Philadelpha with faculty leader Mary Ann Cummings.  More information.
  • Since 2016, students from the LGBTQ+ community periodically receive sponsorship to attend the oSTEM Conference.  In 2024,  12 students attended the national conference in Portland, Oregon with faculty leader John Paxton.  More information.
  • Students periodically receive sponsorship to attend the Richard Tapia Celebration of Diversity in Computing Conference.  Four students attended the September 2020 virtual conference.  More information.
  • Since 2007, students periodically receive partial sponsorship to participate in a summer study abroad trip.  In 2025, 12 MSU students studied in Lyon, France with faculty leader John Paxton.  More information.
  • Since 2015, students periodically receive sponsorship to visit an out-of-state high-tech hub to learn about career opportunities, build community and enjoy cultural opportunities.  In 2022, 8 students traveled to Seattle with faculty leader John Paxton.  More information.
